Elephant Ornament - Large Handmade Black Leather Elephant - Trunk Up - Fair Trade Ornament. These Fair Trade Animals are handmade in a community based self-help project in a region of India called Bhopal. The animals are crafted over a wire frame that is covered in rice grass and papier mache to create the body contours. They are sun - dried before sheep and goats leather; a by-product of the food industry, is stretched over the base. They are then hand painted and polished to form these stunning and durable life-like animals.
